CNN Commentator Angela Rye Refuses to Say Trump Is Her President (Video)

“Your president, too,” former GOP congressman responds

CNN political commentator Angela Rye refused to call President Trump her president on Monday during a panel discussion related to Russia meddling in the election, angering a former GOP congressman who was part of the discussion.

“There are a lot of things that your president has done to defy logic. Let’s at least acknowledge that,” Rye said as the panel debated the ramifications of Donald Trump Jr.’s 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer who promised dirt on Hillary Clinton.

Trump campaign adviser and former GOP congressman Jack Kingston responded, “Your president, too, Angela. Your president, too.”

Rye, who is from Seattle, Washington, fired back, “Well, he’s your president.”

CNN host John Berman ended the disagreement by saying Trump is “the president of the United States.” Former GOP congressman Joe Walsh tweeted that he has no problem with Rye saying Trump isn’t her president.

“Obama wasn’t mine,” he wrote.

Earlier on Monday, Trump took to Twitter to defend his oldest son regarding the meeting.

The president tweeted, “Most politicians would have gone to a meeting like the one Don jr [sic] attended in order to get info on an opponent. That’s politics!”
