CNN Gives Interview Show to Canadian TV Personality George Stroumboulopoulos

New interview show will air Fridays starting in early summer on CNN

CNN is launching a new series from George Stroumboulopoulos, host of Canadian broadcaster CBC's "George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight."

We will be charitable here, and assume that CNN isn't trying to dupe people into believing that they've signed "Good Morning America" co-host George Stephanopoulos to a program.

On the new show, which will consist of 10 one-hour episodes, Stroumboulopoulos will interview  "the public figures driving our cultural conversations and offer a fresh perspective on the interview and talk show format for CNN," the network said.

Stroumboulopoulos will tape the show in Los Angeles, as opposed to his usual environs of Toronto.

“I feel really lucky to have been in broadcasting for 20 years up in Canada – and I’m excited to now also bring our conversations with people making the biggest news in entertainment, politics, sports, and pop culture to a whole new audience,” Stroumboulopoulos said.

The new series will air Fridays, beginning in early summer.
