Bob Beckel, the liberal pundit who was fired by Fox News over “personal issues” in June, has been hired by CNN.

According to the Daily Beast, Beckel will be one of CNN’s political commentators appearing across the network’s programming.

Beckel was best known for being one of Fox’s “The Five” since 2011. But he mysteriously disappeared from the show last February, and Mediaite began a “Where’s Bob Beckel?” watch until the network confirmed that he had undergone back surgery and that he also went to rehab for addiction to pain medication.

Fox announced over the summer that Beckel would not be returning.

“We tried to work with Bob for months, but we couldn’t hold ‘The Five’ hostage to one man’s personal issues,” Fox executive Bill Shine said in a statement at the time. “He took tremendous advantage of our generosity, empathy and goodwill and we simply came to the end of the road with him.”
