CNN announced new positions for four of its Washington D.C. correspondents on Tuesday.
Network vets Brianna Keiler and Jim Acosta have been promoted to senior White House Correspondents, while Jessica Yellin will move from chief White House correspondent to the newly-created position of chief domestic affairs correspondent. She'll also become a substitute anchor when needed.
Rene Marsh, from CNN Newsource, is now the network's aviation and government regulation correspondent.
CNN's Washington bureau chief and vice president Sam Feist framed the positions as part of the news network's effort to, well, gather news.
"CNN’s Washington team of correspondents will be even better positioned to deliver on our core missions of breaking news and enterprise reporting," Feist said. "As CNN continues to grow its newsgathering capabilities, we are thrilled to have such an outstanding group of correspondents to move into these key roles."
The changes will begin in September, the network said.
