Coen Brothers Anthology ‘The Ballad of Buster Scruggs’ Going to Netflix

“We are streaming motherf–ers!” Joel and Ethan Coen announce

The Coen Brothers’ anthology “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs” is riding to Netflix.

The Western project will be written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, and produced by Annapurna Television. It features six tales about the American frontier and launches on Netflix in 2018.

“We are streaming motherf–ers!” the Coens said in a statement.

Joel and Ethan Coen are executive producers, along with Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle from Annapurna Television. Longtime Coen Brothers collaborator Robert Graf is also an executive producer.

“The Coens are visionary directors, masterful storytellers, and colorful linguists. We are thrilled for Netflix to become home to the full range of their talents,” said Cindy Holland, Netflix vice president of original content.
