Comedy Central Names New Vice Presidents of Communications

Comedy Central elevates Renata Luczak and Jenni Runyan

Comedy Central has named Renata Luczak and Jenni Runyan as vice presidents of communications.

“Renata and Jenni are incredibly innovative and extremely inspired communications strategists, handling the highest-profile series and initiatives for Comedy Central, including 'The Daily Show,' 'The Colbert Report,' 'South Park,' 'Tosh.0,' and 'Workaholics,'” said senior vice president of communications Steve Albani, to whom they will report.

Luczak, based in New York, handles “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” “The Colbert Report,” and “Tosh.0. She also publicized the “Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear” and has helped develop and implement Comedy Central's “Indecision” political coverage since 2000.

Luczak will take on the recently announced Comedy Central Enterprises, which is focused on merchandise, home video, CDs and digital downloads, publishing and live touring.

Runyan, based in Santa Monica, has headed the brand’s west coast communications team since 2006. She has developed and implemented campaigns for shows including “South Park,” “The Sarah Silverman Program,” “Drawn Together,” “The Man Show,” “The Showbiz Show with David Spade,” “Mind of Mencia,” “Crank Yankers” and “Workaholics.”

Runyan also deals with the trade press and handles the network's participation in the Television Critics Association semi-annual press tours, as well as providing planning and on-site assistance for the Primetime and Creative Arts Emmy®ceremonies. Her new responsibilities will include developing press strategies for the upcoming “The Burn with Jeff Ross,” Daniel Tosh’s upcoming animated series “Brickleberry” and “The Kroll Show,” starring Nick Kroll.
