‘Community’s’ Donald Glover Developing Music Comedy for FX

The actor follows up his departure from the NBC comedy with the script development deal

Donald Glover, who's reportedly leaving NBC's "Community" to focus on his music, has found a way to combine his passion with a TV project.

FX has given Glover a script development deal for a comedy project based on the music scene in his hometown of Atlanta, a network representative told TheWrap.

The actor will write, executive produce and star in the project currently titled "Atlanta."

Glover, who has been busy with his musical career under his pseudonym Childish Gambino, was apparently attracted to FX's offer to work around his music career.

The actor will appear on five episodes of the approaching fifth season of "Community." Previously, he worked as a writer on NBC's "30 Rock."

Glover is represented by CAA, The Schiff Company and Ginsburg Daniels.
