Craig Kilborn Strikes Development Deal With ABC

Former “Daily Show” host will write a comedy script for a project that he’ll also star in and produce

After an extended hiatus, Craig Kilborn might soon be returning to the small screen.

The former "Daily Show" host has inked a development deal with ABC Studios, ABC confirmed to TheWrap on Thursday. Kilborn will be inking a half-hour comedy script. If the project is picked up, the 48-year-old will also star in and produce.

Aside from "The Kilborn File," which aired one episode last year, Kilborn's last television stint was "The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn," which aired from 1999 to 2004.

Kilborn has largely dabbled in films for the past few years, appearing in the 2003 Will Ferrell comedy "Old School" and the 2007 dramedy "Full of It."
