Forget the McCourts; ‘CSI’ Creator’s Divorce Could Be a Doozie

The creator of the $6 billion empire ventures into divorce court with no pre-nup. The numbers and nastiness could dwarf Dodgers-owners Frank and Jamie’s high-profile split

Move over, Frank and Jamie, and brace yourselves for what might well become one of the most expensive — and, perhaps, nastiest — divorce proceedings in recent Hollywood history.

"CSI" creator-producer Anthony Zuiker is currently undergoing a split from his wife Jennifer, and judging by court papers obtained by TheWrap, it's not likely to be amicable — or inexpensive.

Citing irreconcilable differences, Jennifer Zuiker petitioned the court on April 25, seeking full legal and physical custody of the couple's three children — Dawson, 10; Evan, 8; and Noah, 3.

She isn't likely to get those rights without a fight. As reported by TMZ, Anthony Zuiker has filed his own papers, seeking joint custody of their kids. Time for their respective lawyers to earn their no-doubt-massive hourly fees.

Speaking of money, this isn't a small-potatoes case. The "CSI" franchise has generated in excess of $6 billion, with two successful spinoffs, "CSI: NY" and "CSI: Miami," no doubt generating a huge personal stake for Zuiker. (There's also actual and potential revenue from Zuiker's invention, the digi-novel, to consider.)

Given that, according to TMZ, the couple — who married in 1999 — didn't have a prenuptial agreement, pretty much guaranteeing a 50/50 split of assets, the next mystery Zuiker might be tackling is just how much money he's kissing goodbye.
