CW Sizzle Reel: First Peeks at ‘The 100,’ ‘Arrow’ and ‘Vampire Diaries’ (Video)

The minute-long montage also features a new look at fan favorite “Supernatural”

The CW has released a sizzle reel for its fall slate, featuring fresh looks at its new and returning series. The montage features the first footage released from “The 100’s” second season, plus new scenes from “Reign,” “Arrow” and more.

The CW’s fall season kicks off on Thursday, Oct. 2, with the return of “The Vampire Diaries” and “Reign.” The former will see Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) separated from their friends in the living world, while the latter will put more pressure on the new marriage between Francis (Toby Regbo) and Mary (Adelaide Kane).

There’s a new look at Team “Arrow,” as Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is alarmed to hear gunshots while on the phone with Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell). “The Flash” will also be debuting this fall in neighboring Central City, and the sizzle reel contains some new shots of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) going really, really fast.

“Supernatural,” the network’s longest-running scripted series, is heading into its tenth season with Dean (Jensen Ackles) turned into a demon. Meanwhile, “Jane the Virgin” introduces the world to Gina Rodriguez as the most unlikely expectant mother ever, and the vampires and werewolves and hybrids down in New Orleans are back to create more chaos on “The Originals.”

“The 100” was an unexpected hit for the network last season, and still remains the most mysterious returning show, with a trailer shown to fans at Comic Con. The brief glimpse of new footage here seems to confirm that one character whose fate was left up in the air in the finale has indeed survived.

The CW will also continue to be the home of unscripted series including “America’s Next Top Model,” now in the midst of Cycle 21 and gearing up to premiere Cycle 22 in October, and “Whose Line Is It Anyway,” returning for Season 11 in 2015.
