Ratings: ‘NCIS’ Returns to Hand CBS Easy Victory Among Viewers

Third-Place CW is only network not in a demo tie on Tuesday

Tuesday had a ton of ties throughout primetime, though third-place CW managed to avoid sharing its position in the key 18-49 demographic.

CBS and NBC were knotted-up at the very top, though “NCIS” easily carried the Les Moonves-led network to first place among total viewers.

Lower down the list, ABC and Fox tied for fourth in the main demo, and Spanish-language networks Univision and Telemundo both finished in sixth place.

CBS and NBC tied for first in ratings, both with a 1.6. CBS had a 6 share, while NBC got a 5. CBS was first in total viewers with an average of 11.4 million, according to preliminary numbers — NBC was second with 7.9 million.

For CBS, “NCIS” at 8 p.m. ET scored a 1.9/7 and 14.6 million viewers. At 9, “NCIS: New Orleans” earned a 1.8/6 and 12.4 million viewers. The “Person of Interest” season premiere at 10 posted a 1.2/4 and 7.4 million viewers.

For NBC, “The Voice” at 8 p.m. ET put up a 1.6/6 and 8.4 million viewers. At 9, “Chicago Med” received a 1.5/5 and 7.6 million viewers. “Chicago Fire” at 10 landed a 1.6/5 and 7.8 million viewers.

The CW was third in ratings with a 0.9/3 and fourth in viewers with 2.4 million. “The Flash” at 8 p.m. ET put up a 1.2/5 and 3.3 million viewers. “Containment” at 9 got a 0.5/2 and 1.5 million viewers.

ABC and Fox tied for fourth in ratings, both with a 0.8/3. ABC was third in total viewers with 2.9 million; Fox was fifth with 1.9 million.

For ABC, “Fresh off the Boat” at 8 p.m. ET had a 1.1/4 and 4.2 million viewers. At 8:30, “The Real O’Neals” received a 1.0/3 and 3.3 million viewers. “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” at 9 got a 0.9/3 and 2.9 million viewers. At 10, “Beyond the Tank” settled for a 0.5/2 and 1.9 million viewers.

For Fox, “New Girl” at 8 p.m. ET had a 1.0/4 and 2.3 million viewers. At 8:30, “Grandfathered” got a 0.7/3 and 1.9 million viewers. Another “New Girl” at 9 received a 0.9/3 and 1.9 million viewers. “The Grinder” at 9:30 ended the network’s primetime schedule with a 0.5/2 and 1.6 million viewers.

Univision and Telemundo tied for sixth in ratings, both with a 0.6/2. Univision was sixth with 1.7 million viewers, Telemundo was seventh with 1.5 million.
