D23 Expo: Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Mindy Kaling Get Emotional for Disney/Pixar’s ‘Inside Out’

"Monsters Inc." director Pete Docter explains the brainy, high-minded Pixar feature

Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Mindy Kaling, Lewis Black and Phyllis Smith will lend their voices to Disney/Pixar's "Inside Out," the upcoming film from "Monsters Inc." and "Up" director Pete Docter.

Each lends a voice to the "Emotions" — five characters who personify human emotions and guide an 11-year-old girl named Riley through her daily life.

Black will voice anger; Kaling disgust; Hader is fear; Poehler is joy; and Smith is sadness.

Pixar chief John Lasseter described the movie as one of the most unique he's ever been involved with, introducing the Oscar-winning Docter to explain the premise of taking viewers inside the human mind; two emotions are thrown out of Riley's cranial headquarters and into the deepest recesses.
