The “Daily Show” named Elliott Kalan its new head writer, among several other promotions, while “The Colbert Report” named a new co-executive producer.
Steve Bodow, Jen Flanz and Adam Lowitt were promoted to “Daily Show” executive producers and Tim Greenberg and Hillary Kun to co-executive producers. Justin Melkmann was promoted to supervising producer.

Emily Lazar was promoted to co-executive producer of the “Colbert Report.” She formerly served as supervising producer.
“For over 1,300 shows Emily Lazar has introduced me to people and ideas I never knew I cared so much about,” said Stephen Colbert. “She really makes me seem interesting.”

New “Daily Show” executive producer Bodow joined the show in 2002 and was a writer, head writer, supervising producer and co-executive producer from 2011-2013. Flanz started in 1998 as a production assistant, then became an assistant production coordinator, production coordinator, production manager, coordinating producer, supervising producer, and co-executive producer.
Lowitt joined in 2002 as a post-production assistant, then became a tape coordinator, footage supervisor, segment producer, senior segment producer, senior producer, and supervising producer.
Greenberg started in 2006 as a field producer, then became a supervising producer. Kun began in 2001 as a talent producer, then became a supervising producer. Kun continues to book the show’s guest appearances. Melkmann is the one of the most tenured staffers, having joined in 1996 as a post-production supervisor. He later became a segment producer, senior segment producer, and senior producer.

Kalan started in 2003 as a production assistant in 2003, then became an associate segment producer, segment producer and writer.
