Ratings: ABC’s ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Debut Dips to Premiere Low

Fox’s “MasterChef” knots network atop demo with ABC

The “Dancing With the Stars” debut foxtrotted to solid demo numbers, but the new season premiere low tied ABC with Fox and its “MasterChef” finale.

The two nets matched for first in ratings with a 2.0 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic. ABC was first in viewers with an average of 11.4 million, according to preliminary numbers. Fox was third with 5.5 million.

For ABC, “DWTS” at 8 p.m. earned a 2.4/7 and 13.5 million viewers — both highs on the night. A rerun followed.

For Fox, “MasterChef” was the only show on its schedule.

NBC was third in ratings with a 1.8/5 and fourth in viewers with 5.2 million. “American Ninja Warrior” at 8 was the only show on its schedule, earning those numbers.

CBS was fourth in ratings with a 1.3/4 and second in viewers with 5.8 million. Following reruns, “Under the Dome” at 10 received a 1.6/5 and 7 million viewers.

Univision was fifth in ratings with a 1.1/3 and in total viewers with 2.8 million.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.7/2 and in total viewers with 1.7 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.4/1 and in total viewers with one million. Following repeats, “America’s Next Top Model” had a 0.4/1 and 993,000 viewers.
