David Fincher Wants You to ‘Dress Normal’ With Gap Clothing (Video)

The “Gone Girl” director shot an ad campaign for the clothing company

Lisbeth Salander is not going to like this: David Fincher, the director of “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” and the upcoming “Gone Girl,” encourages you to “dress normal” in a new ad for The Gap.

The Oscar-nominated film director, who began his career as a music video director, still makes some ads on occasion. The series of black-and-white Gap commercials aim to convince today’s youth that a simple outfit is better than anything too flashy — or colorful.

Like the clothes they’re selling, the four 30-second spots are very plain and to the point. One (above) just features a couple making out, while the girl slyly checks herself out in a mirror. Salander-style piercings and leather are nowhere in sight.
