Could more “Twin Peaks” be on the way? Judging by Twitter on Friday, the outlook is decidedly optimistic.

“Dear Twitter Friends: That gum you like is going to come back in style! #damngoodcoffee,” the show’s co-creator and director David Lynch tweeted Friday morning. Even more curious, the show’s co-creator Mark Frost tweeted the exact same message, at the exact same time.

The tweet is a quote from the 1990s cult hit show by The Man From Another Place to Dale Cooper in a dream sequence that ultimately helped lead to the identity of Laura Palmer’s killer, the show’s central mystery. And of course, the wording of the quote certainly seems to suggest there’s more of something “Twin Peaks” related making a comeback.

It’s hard to imagine it’s yet another DVD set or more deleted scenes, since a boatload of “Twin Peaks” material was just released in a definitive collection that included the whole series and the prequel film “Fire Walk With Me.”

But Lynch has always kept the possibility of fresh “Twin Peaks” stories open. In 2013, he told actor Ray Wise during a gala, “Well, Ray, you know, the town is still there. And I suppose it’s possible that we could revisit it. Of course, you’re already dead (…) but we could maybe work around that.”
