The People’s Champion returns to take on tag team champions New Day
Finally, The Rock has come back to WWE’s “Monday Night Raw.”
The People’s Champion made a special appearance on the sports entertainment company’s flagship program as they were broadcasting from his hometown of Miami.
But The Rock, a.k.a. Dwayne Johnson, wasn’t able to bask in his return for too long. Tag team champions New Day, composed of Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods, came down to the ring to insult him.
New Day had recently defeated fellow tag team The Usos, who just so happen to be The Rock’s cousins, and made a point of reminding him of that fact. After The Rock challenged all three men to step into the squared circle with him, New Day retreated up the entrance ramp.
That’s when The Usos appeared and beat New Day back towards the ring. One by one, all three members were tossed into the ring and dispatched in short order. Woods got the worst of it, however, enduring a double super kick from The Usos, a spinebuster from The Rock, followed by The People’s Elbow.
