Democratic Stickers Have Supporters Shaking Their Heads: ‘Go Back to the Drawing Board’

“She persisted. We resisted,” reads one

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee isn’t winning over its own base with its latest bid to draw support.

The DCCC sent an email out Wednesday asking for votes on various stickers, according to Twitter user @maxwelltani, who tweeted out a picture of the email.

“It’s been a whirlwind of a year, but you’ve been with us every step of the way,” the email reads. “So we want to say thank you with a new sticker! Which one should we print? Help us choose the winner!” Voting ends Thursday at midnight, according to the email.

A pretty benign contest — organizations hold voting events like this all the time. But what many on Twitter are finding hilarious are the slogans on the stickers being voted on. One reads: “Democrats 2018. I mean, have you seen the other guys?” Another: “Make Congress blue again,” in what could be interpreted as a riff on Donald Trump’s campaign slogan.

A representative from the DCCC was not immediately available when TheWrap reached out for clarification on the voting contest.

Several on Twitter are finding the slogans on the stickers the opposite of inspirational. One user thought that the sticker reading, “She persisted, we resisted,” could easily be misconstrued. Another said, “none of the above. everyone at the dccc should go to mcdonalds and switch places with the workers there.”

Here are some more bewildered reactions.
