Meryl Streep is a Golden Globes darling, reigning with the most nominations (25) and wins (six, tied with Jack Nicholson), but she confronts hefty competition in the race for best musical/comedy actress: herself. She's nominated for "It's Complicated" and "Julie & Julia."
While the Oscars forbid actors to be nominated twice in one category, double whammies have occurred several times at past Globes. Leonardo DiCaprio reaped dueling bids for "The Departed" and "Blood Diamond" in 2006. He lost to Forest Whitaker ("Last King of Scotland"). Barbara Harris was nommed twice for best comedy/musical actress of 1976 for "Family Plot" and "Freaky Friday." Diva Barbra Streisand ("A Star Is Born") upstaged all mere mortals.
