The Directors Guild of America said Tuesday that it has reached a tentative agreement for a two-year national commercial contract with the Association of Independent Commercial Producers.

The agreement runs from Nov. 1 through Oct. 31, 2011. It includes wage increases and the adoption of a code of preferred practices on creative rights; it also offers provisions protecting and securing pension and health coverage for directors.

“I’m very pleased by the outcome of the commercial negotiations, especially considering the state of advertising in this economy,” DGA president Taylor Hackford said in a statement. “By working together with the AICP, we were able to find solutions that will benefit both sides of the table, ultimately providing more work for all of us.”
