The International Documentary Association announced nominees Thursday for its IDA Awards.

"This American Life's" Ira Glass will host the awards ceremony, to be held Dec. 4 at the Directors Guild of America theater in Hollywood.

In the feature category, the nominees are "Afghan Star," "Anvil! The Story of Anvil," "Diary of a Times Square Thief," "Food, Inc." and "Mugabe and the White African."

In the short film category, nominees are "The Delian Mode," "Salt," "Sari's Mother" and "The Solitary Life of Cranes."

Awards also are given to limited and continuing television series, among other categories.

In the limited series category, nominees are "The Alzheimer's Project," "Architecture School," "In Their Boots," "Time for School" and "We Shall Remain."

Continuing series nominees are "American Experience," "Iconoclasts" and "POV."

As previously reported, Errol Morris will receive the IDA Career Achievement Award.

The Jacqueline Donnet Emerging Documentary Filmmaker Award will go to Mexico-born Natalia Almada, whose films include short "All Water Has a Perfect Memory" and feature "Al Otro Lado." Her latest feature, "El General," won the U.S. Directing Award: Documentary at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.

Also to be honored are Nicolas Noxon, receiving the Pioneer Award, and attorney Michael Donaldson, who is receiving IDA’s Amicus Award.
