Vivendi and IndieVest Pictures are combining on a deal that will see the distributor putting out the independent studio financier's film projects on home-entertainment platforms, the companies announced Tuesday.

IndieVest will handle its own domestic theatrical releases, which Vivendi will distribute to TV, video-on-demand and DVD, as well as digital and mobile platforms.

The first title scheduled to be a part of the deal is "Saint John of Las Vegas," starring Steve Buscemi as a former gambler who's lured back into the game. Costars in the February release include Sarah Silverman and Peter Dinklage.

"IndieVest is committed to high quality independent filmmaking," said Vivendi Entertainment president Tom O'Malley. "Their team has a passion and a sensibility that fits perfectly with Vivendi Entertainment’s continued commitment to bringing diverse and original films to the marketplace."
