The U.S. Senate without debate today confirmed President Obama’s last two nominees to the Federal Communications Commission.

The move will put the normally five-member FCC at its full strength for the first time since January.

Confirmed today were Democrat Mignon Clyburn and Republican Meredith Attwell Baker.

Clyburn is a former South Carolina utility commissioner and the daughter of House Majority Whip Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C. Ms. Baker headed the Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration in the administration of former President Bush.

“With the full slate of Commissioners on board, I look forward to working with all of my colleagues on policies that advance innovation, investment, competition, and consumers,” said Genachowski in a statement.
