The jury in the involuntary manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray reached a verdict Monday morning, TheWrap has confirmed. The verdict is expected to be read at 1 p.m. PT.

After a weeks-long trial, the jury went into deliberations Thursday.

Murray, the physician of singer Michael Jackson at the time of his June 2009 death, is accused of causing Jackson's death by giving the singer propofol to treat his insomnia. While Murray told police that he had given Jackson the drug nearly every night for the two months that he had been treating him, the doctor's defense team maintains that Jackson self-administered the fatal dose.

Conrad Murray Trial: Jurors to Begin Deciding Doctor's Fate Today

November, 04, 2011 7:35 am | Comments On #Conrad Murray, Conrad Murray trial, Conrad Murray Trial Series, Michael Jackson, music

Jurors in Conrad Murray's involuntary manslaughter trial jury are expected to begin deliberations today to decide Murray's culpability in Michael Jackson's 2009 death.

The Los Angeles County coroner ruled Jackson died of "acute propofol intoxication," and that sedatives were also a factor. Prosecutors contend Murray is criminally liable for Jackson's June 25, 2009 death because he recklessly administered the propofol, a potent surgical anesthetic drug, and was negligent in properly monitoring Jackson.

Conrad Murray Trial Goes to Jury

November, 03, 2011 6:49 am | Comments On #Conrad Murray, Conrad Murray trial, Conrad Murray Trial Series, Michael Jackson, music

It's all in the people's hands now.

The involuntary manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray went to jury Thursday, following passionate closing arguments from prosecutor David Walgren and defense attorney Ed Chernoff.

During closing arguments, Walgren accused Murray of performing an "obscene experiment" on Jackson for treating his insomnia with propofol. He also slammed defense witness Paul White, accusing him of foisting "junk science" on the court.

Chernoff, meanwhile, maintained that Jackson was responsible for his own death. During a rambling closing argument, he also suggested that Jackson's celebrity status was the only reason that the case went to court.

Conrad Murray Trial: Prosecutor Tears Into Defense Expert

October, 31, 2011 8:31 am | Comments On #Conrad Murray, Conrad Murray trial, Michael Jackson, music

The involuntary manslaughter trial went into extra innings Monday, with anesthesiology expert Dr. Paul White still on the stand at the end of the day, despite hopes that Murray's defense would rest today.

While the trial might be dragging on, however, the energy level remained high, with prosecuting attorney David Walgren hammering away at White in an effort to discredit his previous testimony for Murray's defense.

In chipping away at White's testimony, Walgren used one of the most powerful tools at his disposal -- White's own words, in the form of articles he'd written about the outpatient use of anesthetics. Walgren rattled off passage after passage written by White about the...

Michael Jackson Likely Gave Himself Fatal Propofol Dose, Expert Says

October, 28, 2011 7:21 am | Comments On #Conrad Murray, Conrad Murray trial, Conrad Murray Trial Series, Michael Jackson, music

During the involuntary manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray on Friday, anesthesiologist Dr. Paul White testified for the defense that it's most likely Michael Jackson self-administered the dose of propofol that killed him on June 25, 2009.

While on the stand, White -- who's expected to be the defense's final witness -- contradicted theories presented earlier in the trial by propofol expert and prosecution witness Dr. Steven Shafer, White's close longtime colleague turned courtroom rival.

Conrad Murray Trial: Propofol Expert 'Only Suggested' Jackson Ingested the Drug

October, 27, 2011 7:58 am | Comments On #Conrad Murray, Conrad Murray trial, Conrad Murray Trial Series, Michael Jackson, music

Update 7:55 p.m.

It was a battle of medical experts in court on Thursday, as witnesses debated whether or not Michael Jackson could have administered a fatal dose of a heavy sedative by himself.

Dr. Paul White put a crimp in Dr. Conrad Murray's legal defense against manslaughter charges on Thursday. The anesthesiologist said that he only suggested, but never concluded that Michael Jackson might have ingested Propofol.

He did say that the amount of the drug Murray claims he administered to the singer would not be toxic.

Earlier in the day, addiction expert Dr. Robert Waldman speculated that doses of Demerol administered by the signer's dermatologist were substantial enough to have made Jackson dependent on the drug, but he might not have been an addict.

Murray's attorneys have backed away from...
