Oprah Winfrey's OWN announced Thursday a new reality series starring football legend and broadcaster Deion Sanders.
"It's Prime's Time" (the show's working title) will depict the daily goings-on of the former dual-sport — he also played baseball — competitor who many consider to be the greatest athlete of all-time. The series will debut next year.
The show will follow the Hall of Famer, businessman, educator and father as he "strives to keep all the facets of his complicated, crazy and chaotic life in balance and under control," the network said.
"Neon" Deion Sanders, a.k.a. "Primetime," is raising his five children in a household that also includes his mother, her foster children and his aunt and uncle. Sanders, an ESPN personality, also stays busy running his charter school — the Prime Prep Academy — which serves underprivileged youth.
The series is produced by Edmonds Entertainment, Prime Time Media Ventures and Rogue Atlas Productions in association with Lionsgate. Executive producers are Eli Frankel, Tracey E. Edmonds and Deion Sanders.
