‘Dexter’ Season 8 Teaser Is Bloody Short on Details (Video)

"It isn't going to be pretty," teaser for "Dexter" promises

Can't wait to see what happens with cable television's favorite serial killer when "Dexter" returns for an eighth season?

Well, we're sorry — this new teaser for the Showtime hit won't shed much light on the subject.

The "Dexter" Season 8 trailer does, however, deliver plenty of creepy suspense — and a promise that the upcoming season "isn't going to be pretty."

"I've always been a very neat monster, but lately the truth has begun to spill and too many people have seen the full picture," Dexter — portrayed by Michael C. Hall on the series — admits in the teaser's narration. "I'm losing control, and the only thing I know for sure is that it isn't going to be pretty."

As the 40-second teaser draws to an end, the camera reveals a blood-red portrait of Dexter that resembles some kind of gore-encrusted Shroud of Turin. Which, true to the teaser's word, really isn't terribly pretty.

The new season of "Dexter" kicks off June 30.

In the meantime, check out the bloody little morsel in the video.
