Did Melania Trump Favorite a Tweet Trashing Her Relationship With Donald?

First Lady’s communication director says that Melania “wasn’t aware” that her Twitter account was promoting a tweet mocking her marriage

Is Melania Trump’s Twitter account trying to tell us something about her relationship with President Trump?

Social media users raised a collective eyebrow on Tuesday after the first lady’s Twitter account appeared to favor a tweet that harshly mocked her relationship with her husband, Cosmopolitan reported.

The tweet in question originated from writer Andy Ostroy, who posted a video clip of an awkward exchange between Donald and Melania along with the message, “Seems the only #Wall @realDonaldTrump’s built is the one between him and @FLOTUS #Melania #trump.”

The seeming move by Melania Trump — or whoever handles that Twitter account — was curious for a couple of reasons, Cosmo noted. Aside from the unlikelihood of Trump promoting a tweet calling her relationship with the Donald into question, Melania currently tweets from the @FLOTUS account, and hasn’t tweeted anything from @MelaniaTrump since election day last November.

Adding to the mystery, Ostroy initially tweeted the GIF — taken from Trump’s inauguration — at Trump’s @FLOTUS account.

According to Cosmo, Ostroy’s snarky dig at the Trumps was favorited by Melania’s account for “more than half an hour” before someone presumably woke up from their nap and took it down.

Melania’s communication director, Stephanie Grisham, attempted to shed light on the mystery in a statement, telling People that the first lady “wasn’t aware” of the favorited tweet prior to being told about it.

“The First Lady wasn’t aware of any of this until I brought it to her attention,” Grisham said: “It isn’t her primary account and we have since changed the passwords.”
