Dimension Buys Distribution Rights to Remake of Thai Thriller

Daniel Stamm is directing "Angry Little God," a remake of "13: Game of Death"

Dimension Films has acquired U.S. distribution rights to “Angry Little God,” a psychological thriller to be directed by "The Last Exorcism" helmer Daniel Stamm.

IM Global will finance and produce the film, which is an English-language remake of  Thailand’s “13: Game of Death." (pictured below)

Stamm and David Birke have penned an adaptation of the original film's script, which follows a desperate and indebted social services coordinator.

The coordinator then accepts a challenge to appear on a hidden camera show with a $6 million prize, only to realize he has entered a far more dangerous agreement than he anticipated.

“I was blown away by Daniel Stamm’s direction in 'The Last Exorcism' and have wanted to work with him ever since,” Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company, said in a statement.  “We look forward to bringing his suspenseful 'Angry Little God' to American audiences.”

Stamm had been in preproduction on "The Darkness," but they delayed production on that film until February according to Management 360's Ben Forkner, who is producing. Stamm also has a pair of other projects in development, but this one got going first.

Brian Kavanaugh-Jones of Automatik and Kiki Miyake will produce the film along with IM Global while Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions will executive produce with Somsak Techaratanaprasert.

“Dimension is the perfect distributor for this kind of edgy genre material in the hands of a proven talent like Daniel.  We’re looking forward to the ride,” IM Global CEO Stuart Ford said in a statement.
