Dimension Films Names Robert Katz New President

Announcement comes one day after production exec VP Matthew Stein exits with a producing deal

Robert Katz has become Dimension Film's new president, the company announced Wednesday.

A former president of production at the Film Department and executive VP of production at the Yari Film Group, Katz arrives as several executives are leaving: Production president Brad Luff left in June, and on Tuesday, executive VP production Matthew Stein stepped away with a non-exclusive producing deal.

At Yari, Katz was in charge of production of "Crash," "The Illusionist," and "The Painted Veil."

Dimension is owned by the Weinstein Company, and Katz will report to co-chair Bob Weinstein. Katz will begin his job at the Weinstein Company's Los Angeles office.
