Directors Michel Gondry, Tom Shadyac Follow Fired CAA Agent Dan Aloni to WME

Since CAA fired Dan Aloni Feb. 29, at least 10 directors — including Michel Gondry, Tom Shadyac and Christopher Nolan — have moved with him to WME

WME is racking up new top-name director clients now that Dan Aloni has joined the agency.

In the week since rival agency CAA fired Aloni, directors Andrew Fleming, Michel Gondry, Raja Gosnell, Jonathan Mostow, Dean Parisot, David Purchase, Ian Purchase and Tom Shadyac have defected to WME.

The day CAA fired Aloni, "The Dark Knight" writer-director Christopher Nolan — who followed Aloni from UTA to CAA — said he was going with his agent.

Shadyac produced and directed "Bruce Almighty" and directed "Liar Liar," both starring another Aloni client — Jim Carrey.

Important Aloni clients including David Dobkin and Jay Roach are still at CAA — for now, at least. Same goes for Carrey.

CAA abruptly fired Aloni during a meeting at the agency's headquarters on Feb. 29.

Deadline first reported the news.
