Second season of celebrity gossip show is averaging 1.3 million daily viewers
“Dish Nation,” the syndicated celebrity series, has been renewed for a third season on Fox Television Stations, Twentieth Television said Tuesday.
The show, which features radio personalities riffing on the celebrity news of the day, currently ranks #1 in the 18-49 and 18-34 demographics among freshman and sophomore, first-run syndicated programs, ahead of offerings including “Queen Latifah,” “Arsenio Hall” and “Katie.” (The show is tied for first in the 18-49 demo with “Steve Harvey.”)
In its current season, “Dish Nation” is averaging 1.3 million viewers daily, an 8 percent uptick over a year ago.
“The hilarious personalities featured on ‘Dish Nation’ are clearly resonating with viewers across the country,” Twentieth Television’s executive vice president and general manager of broadcast sales Paul Franklin said of the renewal. “The program’s comedic take on pop culture and celebrity news have freshened up the stagnant entertainment magazine genre. The Fox Television Stations are a strong partner who first nurtured ‘Dish Nation’ as a summer test; we are thrilled to return for a third season on their local stations.”
“Dish Nation” is produced by Studio City and distributed by Twentieth Television, with Matt Blanock and Michael Bachmann serving as co-executive producers.
