Disney Sets Release Dates for ‘Cinderella,’ New Marvel Movies

"Cinderella" arrive in theaters March 2015 and the untitled superhero flicks arrive in Summer 2016

Disney moved early to claim release dates for its "Cinderella" film and an untitled Marvel project, slating the films for March 13, 2015 and July 8, 2016, respectively.

Disney has already scheduled two Marvel movies for the summer of 2016, but has not conveyed any details about either one.

It will release a sequel to "Thor" later this year and to "Captain America" next year, so the next installment would fit the bill. Other projects in the pipeline include "Guardians of the Galaxy," "The Avengers 2" and "Ant-Man."

Disney is still filling out the cast for "Cinderella," which will star Lily James as the titular maiden and Cate Blanchett as the wicked stepmother. On its current date, the movie would open a week after Fox's reboot of "Fantastic Four."

The studio's announcement on Monday continues its aggressive scheduling manuvers, as Disney has already booked several movies for the next three years.
