Disney, Spike Make Some Exec Moves

Nikke Reed to develop series for Disney, while John Griffin gets a bump from Spike

Disney Channel and Spike TV are doing some executive shuffling.

At Disney, former Universal current exec Nikke Reed has been named VP of original series. She’ll look after live-action development for Disney Channel and Disney XD and will report to Adam Bonnett, senior VP of originals at the cable network.

Reed had been VP of current and development at Universal Cable Productions. She previously spent five years as a development exec at Barry Kemp’s Bungalow 78. On the feature side, she developed movies such as "National Treasure" and "The Kid" and executive produced "Invincible."

Over at Spike, John Griffin has been promoted to senior vice president, programming. He’ll continue to report to Kevin Kay, Spike’s president.

Griffin had been VP of the department since joining Spike in 2005. He’ll remain in charge of scheduling and media planning for Spike, as well as acquisitions.
