Disney’s ‘DuckTales’ Theme Song Gets Slow Jam Treatment (Video)

Postmodern Jukebox jams out to the cartoon classic as part of its Saturday Morning Slow Jams series

If ’80s and ’90s nostalgists are looking for the perfect wedding band, then consider Scott Bradley’s Postmodern Jukebox, who are in the process of going viral for a sl0w jam cover of the “DuckTales” theme song.

Yes, that old Disney cartoon following Scrooge McDuck and his three grandnephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie — plus his trusted pilot Launchpad McQuack — on globe-trotting adventures.

The show, now best known for it’s catchy theme and opening sequence featuring McDuck swimming through his giant pool of gold coins, debuted its 100-episode run in 1987 and ended in 1990, but continued to air reruns in the ’90s, as well.

If you thought the song about “race cars, lasers, airplanes” was a nonsensical “duck blur” when you heard it as a kid, wait until you hear how ludicrous the lyrics are when they’re set to an R&B tune (above).

Ludicrously awesome.
