Hans Zimmer is executive producing the original score, which is being composed by electronic artist Junkie XL
British singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding and Grammy-nominated artist Zedd are contributing brand new songs to the “Divergent” original motion picture soundtrack, which Summit Entertainment and Interscope Records announced on Thursday.
Goulding recorded “Beating Heart” for the film, and will contribute songs from her sophomore album, “Halcyon,” as well as provide vocals for the original score being composed by Grammy-nominated electronic artist Junkie XL, and executive produced by Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer.
Zedd's new track “Find You” features Matthew Koma and Miriam Bryant. More artists contributing to the soundtrack for the adaptation of author Veronica Roth's young adult novel series will be announced soon.
“We started working on the film with songs from Ellie Goulding's album ‘Halcyon’ and soon found that the texture of her music and the tone of her voice matched perfectly with our film,” the film's director, Neil Burger, said in a statement. “In many ways Ellie has become the inner voice of our heroine Tris.”
“Divergent,” starring Shailene Woodley, Theo James and Kate Winslet, hits theaters on March 21.
