‘Divergent’ Stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James Unveil New Trailer on Kimmel (Video)

Kimmel welcomed “the stars of a new movie based on the phenomenally best-selling books that nobody over the age of 17 has ever heard of.”

When Jimmy Kimmel wasn’t busy being amazed by Shailene Woodley‘s efforts to climb mountains for fresh drinking water, he was debuting the new full trailer for her next movie, “Divergent.”

The new trailer is more of what fans of the upcoming young adult novel adaptation have seen in a quick teaser trailer released before Woodley’s appearance on the ABC late-night talk show alongside co-star Theo James.

“Divergent” is set in a dystopian future where people are divided into five distinct factions based on their personalities. When it’s time to join a faction, Tris Prior (Woodley) discovers she’ll never fit into just one, then eventually uncovers an elaborate conspiracy to eliminate her kind so an authoritarian leader (Kate Winslet) can seize control of the divided society. Her faction instructor, Four (James), helps Tris fight for survival, and falls in love with her in the process.

The new trailer (above) reveals Tris’ major talent that sets her apart from the rest of her peers rushing to join a faction. She’s able to control and conquer her fears. As a result, she can’t be controlled, she can’t trust anyone and has to hide inside the Dauntless faction to survive.

Woodley and James ziplined onto Kimmel’s concert stage after he introduced them as “the stars of a new movie based on the phenomenally best-selling books that nobody over the age of 17 has ever heard of.”

Watch the first portion of their interview (below), in which Woodley details why and how she drinks fresh spring water — and how you can, too.

UPDATE: Here’s the full version of the final theatrical that debuted on Kimmel.
