The National Enquirer has reported a connection between Ted Cruz’s father, Rafael, and Lee Harvey Oswald

Donald Trump thinks Ted Cruz’s dad may have been involved with the assassination of President John F. Kennedy because of his alleged ties to Lee Harvey Oswald.

The National Enquirer linked Oswald to Cruz’s father, Rafael Cruz, last month, but mainstream media didn’t pick up the story until Trump chimed in.

“His father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald’s being — you know, shot. I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous,” Trump said during a phone interview on Fox News. “What is this, right prior to his being shot, and nobody even brings it up. They don’t even talk about that. That was reported, and nobody talks about it.”

Trump is likely to defeat Cruz in Tuesday’s Indiana primary, according to numerous polls. A victory would all but guarantee his win of the Republican nomination.

But does the GOP frontrunner feel that the elder Cruz was actually the man on the grassy knoll?

“I mean, what was he doing? What was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death, before the shooting?” Trump continued. “It’s horrible.”

A Cruz spokesperson called the Enquirer’s story “another garbage story in a tabloid full of garbage.”

Cruz responded, calling Trump a “pathological liar” and “utterly amoral,” adding that he’s a “narcissist at a level I don’t think this country has ever seen.”
