Donald Trump Calls for Ruth Bader Ginsburg to Resign: ‘Her Mind Is Shot’

Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump called for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg to resign late Wednesday night.

“Justice Ginsburg of the U.S. Supreme Court has embarrassed all by making very dumb political statements about me. Her mind is shot – resign!” Trump tweeted.

Trump’s message comes after the Notorious RBG has spent the past few days bashing Trump in media interviews. Ginsburg, 83, was appointed to the Supreme Court by Bill Clinton back in 1993.

“I can’t imagine what this place would be — I can’t imagine what the country would be — with Donald Trump as our president,” Ginsburg told The New York Times earlier in the week.

Ginsburg also ripped Trump as a “faker” in an interview on CNN. “He has no consistency about him. He says whatever comes into his head at the moment. He really has an ego,” she said. “How has he gotten away with not turning over his tax returns? The press seems to be very gentle with him on that.”

Trump also spoke to the Times this week, responding to Ginsburg, “I think it’s highly inappropriate that a United States Supreme Court judge gets involved in a political campaign, frankly.”

Ginsburg has come under fire from some legal experts and key conservatives for wading into presidential politics, which is often considered taboo for sitting Supreme Court justices.

“For someone on the Supreme Court who is going to be calling balls and strikes in the future based upon whatever the next president and Congress does, that strikes me as inherently biased and out of the realm,” House Speaker Paul Ryan told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Tuesday night.
