Donald Trump is on his way to the New York Times headquarters, according to CNN, citing Trump press secretary Hope Hicks. The news comes after the President-elect previously canceled the meeting early Tuesday morning.

President-elect Donald Trump announced on Twitter early Tuesday morning that he has canceled a meeting with the “failing” New York Times after the paper tried to change the terms of the meeting at the last minute, which he called “not nice.”
Reporters and editors from the paper were scheduled to meet with the president-elect at Trump Tower this afternoon following Monday’s meeting with TV news heavyweights.

Times spokeswoman Eileen M. Murphy issued the following statement: “We were unaware that the meeting was canceled until we saw the president-elect’s tweet this morning. We did not change the ground rules at all and made no attempt to. They tried to yesterday — asking for only a private meeting and no on-the-record segment, which we refused to agree to. In the end, we concluded with them that we would go back to the original plan of a small off-the-record session and a larger on-the-record session with reporters and columnists.”
On Monday, Trump tore into top broadcast and cable news executives and on-air talent as representatives of the “dishonest” media, the New York Post reported.
He specifically named CNN president Jeff Zucker in the off-the-record meeting, according to the Post, which described the atmosphere as like a “firing squad” by the real estate mogul turned reality TV host turned politician.
Meanwhile, Trump also sent a tweet on Tuesday morning calling out the Times for what seems to be a reference to the paper’s public editor, Liz Spayd, who recently wrote about the paper’s election coverage.

“He’s ribbing the NYT for having a public editor — for embracing transparency,” CNN senior media correspondent Brian Stelter tweeted.
Trump followed up his tweets about the Times by writing, “Great meetings will take place today at Trump Tower concerning the formation of the people who will run our government for the next 8 years.”
