Donald Trump said he wants Elizabeth Warren to be Hillary Clinton’s running mate, calling her “Pocahontas” and “goofy” in a Twitter attack.
“Pocahontas is at it again! Goofy Elizabeth Warren, one of the least productive U.S. Senators, has a nasty mouth. Hope she is V.P. choice,” the presumptive GOP nominee tweeted.
The Pocahontas nickname refers to controversy over Warren claiming she is of Native American descent, despite the connection being distant and hard to prove. The Massachusetts senator spoke at the American Constitution Society of Law and Policy National Convention on Thursday, where she repeatedly attacked Trump.
She called Trump a “thin-skinned racist bully” who “should be ashamed.”
Just yesterday, Trump and Hillary Clinton got into a Twitter spat. It all started when Trump tweeted, “Obama just endorsed Crooked Hillary. He wants four more years of Obama-but nobody else does!”
“Delete your account,” Clinton said in a tweet that went viral.
Trump fired back, seizing on one unfortunate word in Clinton’s message.
“How long did it take your staff of 823 people to think that up” Trump shot back, “and where are your 33,000 emails that you deleted?
