Noted Hollywood germaphobe Howie Mandel says Donald Trump was all wet in his explanation for why he couldn’t possibly have taken part in a golden showers scenario in Russia, as reputed in an unverified dossier published by BuzzFeed.

During a Wednesday press conference, Trump attempted to throw warm water on the claim that Trump defiled a bed President Obama slept in at the Moscow Ritz Carlton Hotel “by employing a number of prostitutes to perform a ‘golden showers’ (urination) in front of him.”

Trump has said the report was nothing but “fake news,” and speaking to reporters on Wednesday, added further proof: “I’m also very much of a germaphobe, by the way. Believe me.”

But that excuse didn’t hold, um, water for fellow cooties-hater Mandel. Also speaking to the press — in the form of TMZ — Mandel rained all over Trump’s explanation.

“I don’t know if that’s a good excuse of why that didn’t happen. It’s like they say, that urine is very antibacterial,” Mandel offered. “It’s sterile. If you get something on you, you’re supposed to urinate on it.”

Mandel isn’t a doctor, but he has played one on TV.

Still, Mandel did shower the president-elect with some praise.

“He’s making germaphobes great again,” Mandel said.

Watch Professor Howie break it down in the video.
