Former CNBC host Donny Deutsch said that if he had the chance to interview Donald Trump he would ask the billionaire and Presidential candidate, “Dude, do you know what you’re getting yourself into?”
Deutsch was at the TCA press tour in Los Angeles Wednesday discussing his upcoming USA series “Donny!” in which he plays a fictionalized version of himself as a talk show host who often says one thing on the air but does another in real life.
He said that he and Trump know each other well, with their children even attending the same school. Deutsch also served as a judge on “The Apprentice” for the first three seasons.
“I know Donald well enough to know he’s just going with it and having fun,” Deutsch said. “And say what you want about the guy, he’s an incredible brand and he’s this enzyme right now. He wants attention and of course he’s getting it. At the very least he’s going to be a king maker here.”
Deutsch was also asked what his character would say to Trump. “I would still just be so obsessed about the hair,” he said. He also offered the journalists in attendance $50 a piece to watch his new show.
