Drafthouse Buys Movie ‘The Final Member’ – About World’s Lone Penis Museum

The documentary will hit theaters and VOD next year

Drafthouse Films acquired North American distribution rights to “The Final Member,” Jonah Bekhor and Zach Math’s documentary about the world’s only museum dedicated to preserved male genitalia.

The film tracks Sigurour “Siggi” Hjartarson, who founded the Icelandic Phallological Museum. The museum is home to decades of phalli, displaying the members of both mice and whales. The one thing it is missing: human genitalia.

“The Final Member,” which has screened at HotDocs, Fantastic Fest and Doc NYC, will open in theaters next year. Drafthouse will release the movie in theaters and VOD, and has partnered with VHX to release it on digital platforms.

“This is a really unique story – one that’s shocking, sublimely comedic, andvery meaningful, and Drafthouse is the perfect home for this film,” Math said in a statement.

James Emanuel Shapiro made the deal for Drafthouse while attorney Andrew Herwitz represented the producers.
