Elijah Wood Joins Vin Diesel in ‘The Last Witch Hunter’

Michael Caine and “Game of Thrones'” Rose Leslie also star in the supernatural thriller

Elijah Wood has joined Vin Diesel in Breck Eisner’s supernatural thriller “The Last Witch Hunter,” Lionsgate announced on Monday.

Michael Caine and “Game of Thrones” alum Rose Leslie also star in the film, which follows Diesel as an immortal witch hunter who must partner with his natural enemy, a female witch (Leslie), in order to take down the covens of New York City from unleashing a plague upon humanity.

Erik Feig, co-president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group; Geoff Shaevitz, Summit Entertainment’s president of Production; and Matthew Janzen, Lionsgate’s vice president of Production and Development, are overseeing the project for the studio.

Wood, known for the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, was most recently seen in buzzy indie thriller “Grand Piano.” He is represented by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Stone, Meyer, Genow, Smelkinson and Binder.
