Elizabeth Hurley Set for ‘Gossip Girl’ Arc

“Austin Powers” co-star will play a multi-episode role as a media mogul on the CW’s scandal-ridden hit

Elizabeth Hurley is coming to "Gossip Girl," the CW confirms to TheWrap.

The "Austin Powers" co-star has signed on for a multiple-episode arc and will play Diana Payne, a take-no-prisoners media mogul whose arrival on the Upper East Side will bring drastic alterations to the lives of the show's scandal-prone inhabitants, particularly the titular rumor-monger herself.

Speaking of scandal, perhaps Hurley can regale Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick and the gang with tales from her relationship with her ex, Hugh Grant …

Most recently, Hurley was attached to play evil villain Veronica Gale on the NBC pilot "Wonder Woman," but the pilot was not picked up.

She's also due to star alongside Vincent D'Onofrio and Rachael Leigh Cook in the upcoming western thriller "High Midnight."

News of Hurley's "Gossip Girl" casting was first reported by TVLine.
