Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton Give Love a Third Go in ‘Burton and Taylor’ Trailer (Video)

BBC America hopes that its "Burton and Taylor" rights the wrongs of Lindsay Lohan's "Liz & Dick"

Elizabeth Taylor and husband Richard Burton prepare for the 1983 theatrical production of their play, "Private Lives," in the trailer for the BBC's "Burton and Taylor." The famous couple is also trying out their marriage for the third time.

Helena Bonham Carter plays the legendary Elizabeth Taylor and Dominic West portrays Burton in the BBC America TV trailer.

The BBC's television movie version comes on the heels of Lifetime's "Liz & Dick," starring Lindsay Lohan as Taylor, which was widely panned by critics.

"Love in not a drug," Taylor opines in the clip. But it may truly be just as powerful as any of Burton and Taylor's other addictions: including clothes, houses, yachts, diamonds, and of course, alcohol. When the on-stage production opens up too much of a window into their actual private lives, the addictions take over.

"Burton and Taylor is scheduled for release this fall.
