Ellen Page Fires Back at Anti-Gay Pastor’s Letter Over Twitter

“I don’t want arms of Heavenly Father around me.A girls arms? Yes,” the actress says

Judging by her response, Ellen Page doesn’t need your blessing or approval.  The actress, who recently came out as gay, tweeted a blistering reply to an unnamed pastor who had sent her a letter criticizing her sexuality.

“2 da Pastor who wrote me-Being gay isn’t a belief.My soul isnt struggling& I don’t want arms of Heavenly Father around me.A girls arms? Yes,” Page tweeted over the weekend to her 884K followers.

It was retweeted more than nine thousand times. So far, there’s no word on the pastor’s response.

Page, 27,  publicly revealed her sexuality in February, during in a speech to the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s “Time to Thrive” event in Las Vegas.

“I’m here today because I am gay,” she told the audience. “Maybe I can help others to have an easier time … I do it selfishly because I am tired of hiding, I’m tired of lying by omission.”
