Cable network says reality competition show is one of its top-rated

“Ellen’s Design Challenge” is an apparent hit for HGTV.

According to the cable network, the reality competition is one of its highest-rated shows. It averages a .83 in the cable’s key demographic, Adults 25-54. It also improved 48 percent over the channel’s 13 week average prior to the show’s premiere.

Additionally, HGTV claims “Ellen’s Design Challenge” consistently ranked as a top 10-rated cable program for the Monday 9 p.m.-10 p.m. time period among its key demo.

Produced by Ellen DeGeneres‘ production company, A Very Good Production, A. Smith and Co. and Telepictures, the show’s finale on Monday caused a stir among viewers when its inaugural winner, Tim McLellan, was disqualified. Runner-up Katie Stout would be awarded the $100,000 prize and HGTV Magazine feature.
