Emma Stone Brings Delusional Teen Back From La La Land (Video)

Teen tells “GMA” that Oscar winner can’t attend Arizona prom because of work commitments

Emma Stone has dashed the dreams of an Arizona teen who hoped to take the Oscar winner to his prom.

Appearing on Friday’s episode of “Good Morning America,” Jacob Staudenmaier — who made headlines this week after asking Stone to the prom via a video reenactment of the opening scene of “La La Land” — said that he’ll have to find an alternate prom date, because of Stone’s work schedule.

“Jacob, thanks for making the greatest proposal I’ve ever received,” Stone wrote, according to Staudenmaier, who also gained attention for a rapidly passing resemblance to Stone’s “La La Land” co-star Ryan Gosling. “I can’t tell you what an honor that was and how much I smiled through that entire beautifully orchestrated video.”

And then Stone dropped the other shoe, which effectively booted Staudenmaier’s hopes out of existence, the teen said.

“I’m in London working, but I hope you have the best time at prom, and I’m grateful you thought of me. THANK YOU. P.S. I do see Gosling around the eyes. Love, Emma,” the actress wrote, according to Staudenmaier.

The 17-year-old made his pitch via Twitter on Tuesday, posting the elaborate re-creation along with the message, “IM ASKING EMMA STONE TO PROM, and decided to recreate the opening scene from la la land @RyanGosling @LaLaLand @johnjayandrich #prom.”

Knowing teenage boys, Staudenmaier will probably still somehow try to tell his buddies that he scored with Stone on prom night.
