Emma Stone’s Biggest Fan on Oscar Night: Costa Rica’s President (Video)

President Luis Guillermo Solís Rivera even serenades star with “La La Land” song in video pitch

Forget Disneyland. If Emma Stone wins Best Actress for “La La Land” on Sunday, she might want to hop on a plane to Costa Rica.

Luis Guillermo Solís Rivera, the president of the tiny Central American nation, posted a personal video invitation to the actress to visit his country, which she had mentioned as a dream destination in an interview with Vogue last year.

“Come to Costa Rica, Emma,” the president said in English on the video, which he posted on his official Facebook page. “Perhaps in a few weeks it would be a good place to celebrate.”

Solís Rivera even sits down at a Yamaha baby grand piano and bangs out the Oscar-nominated tune “City of Stars” from “La La Land” while promising that the actress can “delight in a magical night full of stars.”

For the rest of the video, the president plays pitchman for his country’s tourism industry — including footage from some its sites.

“You and your team are more than welcome to visit and enjoy an experience that you will never forget,” he said on camera. “Costa Rica is a small paradise with lots of things to see and do: You can walk barefoot in the sand of our beautiful beaches, climb into a live crater of a volcano or breathe in the pure air of a rainforest.”

Stone’s rep has not responded to TheWrap’s request for comment.
